24 Hour Holter Monitoring

When Your Doctor Might Recommend Holter Monitoring
The monitor can also help your health provider see how well your heart medications are working or evaluate symptoms that occur mainly during certain activities or times of day.
We often recommend Holter monitoring if you're experiencing:
* Palpitations - feeling like your heart is racing, fluttering, skipping beats, or pounding
* Dizziness or lightheadedness that comes and goes
* Fainting episodes (syncope) - especially if we suspect a heart rhythm problem
* Unexplained fatigue that might be related to your heart rhythm
* Stroke - if we believe an underlying irregular heart rhythm might have caused it
* Symptoms that happen unpredictably - making them hard to capture during a brief office visit

What to Expect With Your Holter Monitor
Your heart's rhythm tells a story. We're here to read it with you.
At Your Appointment
Our technician will attach the Holter monitor - a small device about the size of a cell phone. We'll place electrode patches on your chest (like an ECG) that connect to the recorder with thin wires. The monitor clips onto your belt, goes in your pocket, or hangs on a strap around your neck.
Setup takes 10-15 minutes, and then you're on your way.
You're Supported Throughout
Wearing a heart monitor might feel strange at first, but our team is here for you. If electrodes loosen, you have questions, or something doesn't feel right, call us. We'd rather answer questions than have you worry.
Holter monitoring is routine, safe, and gives us information we can't get any other way.
